*Location: Alpharetta, ga* *Length: 7 months* *Rate: $42/hr* *Primary responsibility is the ongoing support and administration of database software systems - Plan, coordinate, and administer database systems, including base definition, structure and documentation - Provide database expertise to the software development team in the design, development and maintenance of the core database - Expert knowledge of SQL Server administrative tools, including SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Profiler, SQL Server Agent, SQL Server Surface Area Configuration, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, Server Broker, and the bcp and sqlcmd utilities - 7+ years in a database administration and/or application development role - Work experience requiring monitoring and tuning of databases to provide a high availability of service. - Ensures availability and performance of the databases that support our systems. - Proactively monitors the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. - Ability to plan, implement, and maintain backup and restore operations, replication, log shipping, database mirroring, and clustering - Good working knowledge of SQL 2000/2005/2008 and its components including SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and other SQL components - Strong Transact-SQL skills and the ability to create complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions, views, and other database objects - Good working understanding of relational database and BI structures, principles, practices, and theories, including OLTP systems, data warehouses, and Analysis Services cubes - Understanding of server-client computing and relational database environments as well as database communication mechanisms such as ODBC, ADO.NET, and TCP - Experience working with Business Intelligence Development Studio (or SSIS templates in Visual Studio), Team Foundation Server, and other development and maintenance tools and processes - Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent education and work experience is required - Skills required in areas of Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 such as Transact-SQL, replication, DTS/SSIS packages, SQL Agent jobs, SQL Reporting Services, and ActiveX scripting - Other software the applicant should be familiar with include, Visual Studio .NET, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, and Excel), Windows Operating Systems, Windows Server Applications (IIS, Cluster Administrator, Terminal Services), Miscellaneous Support Tools (WinZip, FTP) - Excellent project management skills and written and verbal communication skills* -- Regards, Anand Bandarupally Ling Technologies, Inc.
