Should also have a basic knowledge of Unix, network protocols such as TCP/IP and HTTP. Good troubleshooting skills are a must and a college degree would be a plus. Must have the ability and flexibility to support and manage our dynamic 7 X 24 Production J2EE Environment as well as the other testing environments Would like the person to have Shell, Perl or Jython/JACL scripting experience. t is very important that this Middleware Administrator have some experience with some flavor of UNIX. We have Solaris 8 as well as Linux Suse. Below is a list of tasks that they will be involved in and once they are fairly comfortable with the environments they will be put into the on call rotation. Please let me know if you have further questions. Salary will be dependent upon the amount of experience the candidate has to offer. This is normally assessed during the phone interview. 1. Install and configure JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, and other J2EE software products and fixes on Linux/Windows/UNIX platforms. 2. Support the application development cycle – involved with Application design, deploying code, and resolving any infrastructure problems. 3. Tune J2EE Application servers to optimize performance. 4. Support production implementations and resolve any production problems, support application releases, monitor production environment, participate in production problem calls, * *resolve any problems related to Middleware. 5. Write or modify scripts (Korn shell, JACL, JYTHON). 6. When we have lease replacements we have to reinstall all middleware products. 7. We use a change management system to report all changes in a timely manner and obtain the proper approvals 8. Project plans using MS Project will be written for most projects that we are overseeing 9.
