Linux/Unix Administrator

Linux, Unix, AIX,Redhat Linux, Scripting, SAN, Network, Infrastructure,
RHCE, install, configure



The candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance tasks
such as security patch installations, and implementing new solutions within
the Unix/Linux Server enterprise environments. Should be self-motivated to
gain additional knowledge within those technical support areas and is
expected to share and teach others within the technical support team. Must
be able to analyze problems, debug, perform break/fix solutions, and develop
new solutions within most areas of the IT Unix/Linux Server Technical
Infrastructure environment. In addition this person should be able to help
with the configuration of systems that must interface with the Unix/Linux
Server systems.



Qualifications and skills to perform the Services:

In-depth knowledge of at least one, but not limited to the following
Enterprise Data Center topologies, and with working knowledge of a broad
range of IT services and applications.



Unix/Linux Server Administration including Installation, troubleshooting,
cluster configuration, root cause analysis, security patch installations
Upgrade, SAN Topologies, Network Topologies,

 Advanced Red Hat Linux Operating System,

 AIX Operating system: Intermediate,Unix/Linux configuration and
troubleshooting: Advanced

 Core Infrastructure,  HW/ O/S, Utilities Monitoring, Unix/Linux scripting:
Advanced,

 Service Management

Installation services, Problem Management, Escalation Management, Change
implementations



Requirements:

Unix/Linux Server Support Specialist

Four year degree in IT related concentration.

Minimum of six years of Enterprise level support for Unix/Linux Server
technologies.

Ability to apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business
issues and is regarded as a SME

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Personnel should be SME certified prior to assignment. Technical knowledge
level inline with Red Hat Certified Engineer

Experience working in an SLA driven environment.

Experience with Clarify, Remedy or other ticketing systems
