IBM iSeries Project Manager and Programmer at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis Contact : 1Year 1st preferences to Local *1.0** **BACKGROUND/SCOPE OF WORK-PROJECT SUMMARY/EVALUATION CRITERIA/TIME PERIOD OF CONTRACT/PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING* * 1.1 BACKGROUND* Auxiliary Services is the parent department of a diverse group of areas that support the University of Minnesota: General Services (Printing Plant, Copy Centers, Copyright Permissions, Graphic Arts, Addressing and Mailing, Bindery, Office Equipment lease and rental, and Campus Mail), University Stores (distribution and procurement), Bookstores (textbook and retail, with sites on multiple campuses), Dining (two dozen locations, residential and retail), Parking Transportation and Fleet (two dozen parking facilities, rental and lease of vehicles, campus buses), Housing and Residential Life (residence halls and learning programs), and U Card (campus access and debit card). Auxiliary Services Information Systems (ASIS) is the central data processing department for these areas. Many of ASIS systems are run on the IBM iSeries, including: · JD Edwards World Financial and Distribution suites · Kronos Timekeeping (Timekeeper, Scheduler, Accrual, Self Service) · Considerable order entry/billing systems (most developed in-house) · Web sites and e-commerce · Integration and reconciliation of the above to central university PeopleSoft systems (financials, payroll, student accounts receivable, authentication) 1.2 *SCOPE OF WORK – PROJECT SUMMARY* The work would be two part: a) IBM iSeries programming for all Auxiliary Services departments. Programming could either be maintenance or new development, written in CL, RPGIII, and RPGIV. There would also be opportunities to do Java, php, and html coding on the iSeries, although skills in those languages is not a requirement for responding to this RFP. The time period for this contract is from April 1st, 2009 to March 31st, 2010. b) Project management for the above IBM iSeries programming. Such work would include directing the work of other programmers, estimating programming efforts, writing specifications (business requirements, technical documents like process flow and entity relationship diagrams, test cases), testing the work of other programmers, and working directly with clients. The contract can be awarded across more than one vendor. If, at the University’s sole discretion, the performance of a respondent’s candidate is unacceptable, the University will request a replacement. The University reserves the right to interview potential candidates, and at no cost to the University. *EVALUATION CRITERIA* The selected Respondent will be the Respondent whose Proposal is the most advantageous to the University. The University is not bound to accept the lowest priced Proposal if that Proposal is not in the best interests of the University as determined by the University in its sole discretion.
