HP-UX Admin with Amdocs Experience LOCATION: Monroe, LA DURATION: 18-24 months. Job Description: Responsible for performing computer operations tasks (UNIX Batch Processing). The position runs batch jobs that support client systems involving billing. Monitors performance of all servers, networks, communications devices, etc. and initiates corrective action as needed. * Must have experience providing systems monitoring, reporting, incident handling and troubleshooting of complex technical environments. * Requires basic knowledge of computer operations functions consistent with large data center environments * Understands problem escalation procedures * Performs preventive maintenance and repairs as necessary * Runs assigned batch jobs * Diagnoses problems related to daily transactional processes; determines possible resolutions and implements effective solutions in a timely manner * Performs / monitors / maintains backups and backup reporting. * Monitors alerting systems or system messages and alerts. * Responds to system alerts and messages as appropriate. * Investigates systems for abnormal conditions and general job backlogs. * Verifies that all production jobs finished successfully. * Maintains the journal of major events / end of day processes. * Performs other duties as assigned.
