In addition, candidates need experience with Active Directory. *6 months* Cambridge, Massachusetts (Locals or near by plz) *Duties And Responsibilities*: The Systems Administrator will provide research computing systems administration for our high performance Linux-based cluster and report to the Associate Director of Research Computing. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for monitoring and servicing end user requests for account creation and maintenance such as password resets, and file system ownership, permission, or quota issues. They will monitor the “Remedy” ticketing system, understand the structure and responsibilities of other team members, and help assign tickets appropriately within the group. Other shared responsibilities will include monitoring computer systems for proper operation, diagnosing problems, and assisting with hardware installations, repairs, and moves. The systems administrator will act as a point of first contact for end users, respond to administrative end user needs, and perform related duties as required. Additional Qualifications BS in Computer Science. 5+ years experience. Solid knowledge of basic and research computing systems administration tools and processes. A solid understanding of networking fundamentals and security is important. Excellent communication skills and a positive customer service orientation with both technically skilled and non-skilled users is essential. Must learn new technologies quickly and be responsive to all end user requests.
