Location: Portland, Oregon metro area
Length: 2 Month Contract *
*Skills Required*:
5+ years development of front-end and back-end software for web applications
3+ years Ruby on Rails on a production deployed product
Implementing PHP and Ruby services on a LAMP stack
MVC architectures, XML/JSON and RESTful APIs, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
and Ajax
Proficiency with cross-browser, cross-platform issues, and web standards
Experience with Rails internals, writing plugins
Understanding Rails stacks (Nginx/Mongrel, Apache/Passenger etc.)
Unobtrusive Jquery techniques
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases and design
Linux / UNIX and OS X experience
Know your way around the command line
Uses development patterns
Behavior driven design (or TDD) and development is a plus (related tools:
RSpec, JSSpec, Selenium, etc)
*Highly Desired*:
More senior candidates should have a C++, J2EE or similar background and
design / architecture experience
SDLC: analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, roll out, etc
Strong experience with relational databases
Amazon Web Services and related technologies (EC2, EBS, S3, Capistrano,
etc.)
Experience with related technologies (Merb, Mongrel, Apache, HAProxy,
Passenger, etc)
*Education*:
B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science or Engineering is desirable.
