12 months Chelsea, MA The Windows Systems Administrator is responsible for administrating and maintaining and supporting Windows servers. This person will also assist in the design and enhancements of Windows environments. Strong hands-on Windows administration and advanced troubleshooting skills are required for this position. *Support / Operational:* · Assist Management for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and reduction of operational costs. · Evaluate existing environments, recommend, and create optimal performance. · Provide metrics and monitor systems by use of: o HP Openview. o IBM Director. o Other Monitoring Tools available. · Manage Issue-Ticket Queue and resolve issues within SLAguidelines: o Lead effort in troubleshooting efforts. o Provide options and status to management team. o Resolve the issue in an agreed upon timely manner. · Relate common Issues and propose enterprise-wide solutions when appropriate. · Provide infrastructure services to the Windows OS community: o Symantic Anti-Virus. o Windows Software Update Server. o IBM Director. · Maintain system Patching Levels to an N-1 level: o Firmware/Microcode/BIOS/drivers. o Security and other OS related software. o Demonstrate success by system/review, vendor support matrix, etc. · Create and/or maintain current documentation for environments supported. · Carry pager and provide off-hours support when requested. *Professional:* · Ability to work independently, as part of a Team, or lead a small technical team if appropriate. · Cross-Train and mentor other Windows System Administrators where appropriate. · Be results oriented with excellent customer relationship skills. *Required Qualifications:* · Experience deploying, maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting Windows Operating Systems. · Experience in proactive Monitoring, trending, and base lining abilities for Windows systems using tools such as: o HP Openview, IBM Director, Windows Server Update Services and Symantec Antivirus server · Experience with setting, managing and troubleshooting IBM Hardware including Blade technology. · Active Directory and DNS knowledge. · Microsoft Clustering experience. · Experience with Analysis Tools/Commands: o Ping, nslookup, netstat, tcpview, netmon, perfmon, Msbaseline analyzer, etherreal, tcpdump. · Advanced Webserver Deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting: o IIS, load balancing, SSL, file replication, caching. · Citrix · System Security/Network Security knowledge: o IPSec, ISS, server hardening. · Networking concepts: o TCPIP, VLANs, Subnets, OSI models. · Strong organizational skills. · Strong analytical skills. · Strong communications skills (verbal & written). *Working knowledge and experience with*: · Enterprise Class Storage: o EMC Symmetric, Clarion, and NAS devices. · Networker (Legato) backup client. · Disaster Recovery Concepts. · Database Concepts (SQL, Oracle). · Meditech Application.
