Oracle SOA Application Administrator

Oracle SOA Administrator is responsible for the implementation,
maintenance, and support of Oracle Fusion middleware platform. The
position requires strong technology focus with passion to achieve
excellence in technology implementation. Candidates should possess
full project life-cycle experience deploying Oracle SOA tools, a solid
understanding of SOA architecture, BPEL, web services, and a
foundation of Java/J2EE development skills. This candidate will work
closely with Database Admin team, Linux Support team, Middleware
Development team, Release team, etc to support productions and new
releases.

Responsibilities include:

  * Install, configure, and support Oracle SOA
  * Implement and maintain Oracle Fusion middleware, Oracle 10g
database, Weblogic and Oracle application servers.
  * Troubleshoot applications, network communications, databases and
storage problems.
  * Monitor and improve performance of systems for their assigned
functional area. Perform diagnostics on system operations to identify
potential user constraints
  * Assist and provide technical expertise in new middleware/
integration project initiatives
  * Create and maintain documentation including SOA infrastructure
diagrams and best practices.
  * Develop metrics to measure performance, capability, capacity,
and to report on all aspects of system operations
  * Participate in the definition of standards and processes for
integration
  * Work closely with business users, external consultants,
developers, and other project stakeholders to understand key
functional and nonfunctional requirements, identify project needs,
evaluate available architectural options, assess risks, convey
architecture recommendations and drive resolution of issues
  * Drive effective communication and win-win solutions across
competing stakeholders and cross-functional entities
  * Prioritize requests, plan project milestones and provide time
and resources estimates
  * Proactively communicate task status, progress and solutions to
problems
  * Proactive risk management - identify and mitigate risk, and
drive issue resolution
  * Execute established change control processes and guidelines
  * Define and develop test plans, execution and strategy
  * Work with end users to provide post-implementation support,
resolve questions and define system improvements
  * Act as primary contact for SOA infrastructure related issues,
including responses to system outages

Qualifications:

  * 5+ years experience specializing in the development and/or
administration of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) / BPEL/
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) technologies
  * Experience with Oracle/BEA SOA Suite (Oracle Service Bus
(formerly AquaLogic Service Bus) BPEL Process Manager, Web Services
Manager, Business Activity Monitoring)
  * Experience with performing Java/J2EE Development
  * Demonstrated experience implementing an enterprise SOA framework
with advanced knowledge of SOA related standards and trends
  * Advanced understanding/experience with web services design
concepts and technologies
  * Proven ability to assimilate and apply technologies through
independent research
  * Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to
communicate and influence effectively with IT and Business partners,
including ability to articulate complex technical information in a
clear, concise manner
  * Ability to work in complex business domains with rapidly
changing requirements
  * Excellent analytic skills - must approach problems and issues in
a logical/systemic manner, research issues to the lowest level and
resolve them decisively
  * Must be proficient in creating technical documents such as
support runbooks, best practices, and guidelines
  * Must have the ability to work independently and within a team
environment
  * Must be self motivated, able to plan work effort and manage to
schedule and priorities
  * Must be flexible, adaptable, & available for support during non-
standard hours
  * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science,
    Information Systems (MCS, MIS) or in related field is required.


Technical Skills:

  * Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware Suite
  * Experience with middleware technologies such as Portal,
Integration and Application Servers
  * Specific experience with WebLogic 9 or higher is preferred
  * Experience with BPEL, web services, Enterprise Service Bus, BAM
(BPEL, web services are must)
  * Must have worked in Oracle EBS Applications Environment
  * Expertise in Internet technologies: HTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, XPATH,
TCP/IP, SOAP, XML, XSD, WSDL, XSLT
  * Experience with relational database technologies (Oracle, SQL,
schema structure) required
  * Specific knowledge of database technologies: Oracle 10g / 11i,
RAC, PL/SQL is preferred
  * Experience with Java, JSP, JavaScript
  * Experience with WS-Security
  * Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems
  * Experience with cluster and high availability
  * Prior experience with either of Webmethods | Tibco | Seebeyond
is desirable
  * B2B protocols (EDI | OAG | Rosettanet) is desirable
