Yes* * * *Position Description: *This role will have a particular emphasis on Oracle database management, deployment and tuning. Qualified candidates should have experience in data modeling and logical database design as well as practical experience in deployment of physical Oracle databases based on logical designs. This will include, but not be limited to, physical construction of tables, indexes, normalization, sizing, optimization, and tuning. The Database Administrator will also perform all necessary administrative duties for proper maintenance of development and test environments supporting development for and certification of production systems. * Position Requirements *The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years experience in the following areas: • Designing and sizing distributed database management systems to meet specified non-functional • application requirements. • Monitoring, analysis and tuning of distributed database management systems to achieve optimum • performance. *• Oracle 10g RAC – Specifically, the candidate must be able to build, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle10g RAC environments. * * * *Experience in migration to 11g environment is a plus.* *• Oracle ASM* • *Developing relational database models using a tool such as ERWIN or Rational Rose.* • Developing logical data models from existing business requirements. • Data analysis - interviewing subject matter experts and documenting requirements. • Data design - data modeling and logical database design; construction of data dictionaries. • Transition of logical database models to physical databases. • Physical database maintenance and tuning. *The position requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
