Kindly send me your *updated word format resume along with your rate confirmation and location*. * * *Title: *SAS Data Modeler *Location: *Raleigh NC** *Duration: *6 Months** *Rate: *DOE** This effort supports Governor Perdue’s mandate for a more open government with regard to state spending. Data on grants and contracts reside in disparate systems; none of these systems provide adequate retrieval and display of data; these disparate systems do not always allow for relating grant or contract awards to actual spending. Skilled data modeling and database development will be crucial to the successful extraction and display of data from these disparate systems and will be the key to success of this effort. Contractor will utilize the SAS toolset to develop data model specifications, end user documentation, and to assist in the development of applications. The project has a tight timeline; therefore a high skill level, keen attention to detail, and extreme accuracy are necessary. Contractor will be assigned to the Office of State Budget Management (OSBM) and will: • Develop data models, considering SAS as back-end, based on application requirements and working closely with OSBM and application developer • Evaluate and assess source data quality and develop data cleansing processes • Design and develop conceptual models, logical data models, physical data models, and dimensional data models • Design and develop ETL processes for target applications • Maintain, support, and document data models, database implementation, and ETL processes • Work closely with Technical Team and Application Developer on application design specifications • Train clients on the use of the software platform and developed data integration solutions *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required: *• SAS Enterprise Data Integration Server • SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence Server • SAS Enterprise Integration and Foundation Technologies, including SAS Java API • SAS Bridge to ESRI • Business intelligence/data visualization (including OLAP storage and cube creation) • Data extraction from disparate systems, including mainframe CICS, Oracle, SQL Server, SAP, etc. • IBM Websphere MQ • Sun hardware and Solaris 10 operating system *Working knowledge and experience with technology including: *• Proven work experience designing and developing business intelligence solutions using the SAS version 9.x Intelligent Platform technology, architecture, and resources • Proven track record for designing and developing data warehouse solutions for business intelligence • ETL staging environment design, tuning, and development skills • Experience designing complex physical and logical data models on an enterprise scale • Excellent source data analysis skills • Experience working with GIS datasets in business intelligence solutions • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills • Proven problem solving and decision making skills • Ability to generate detailed and comprehensive work plans and status reports • Ability to work with management at all levels in planning and implementing data warehouse applications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline with specialized coursework or work experience pertaining to data warehousing and business intelligence • Minimum of 5 years experience developing applications using SAS software and/or other business intelligence technology or an equivalent combination of training and experience. • Experience in the field of work related to the positions role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis Preferred: Certification on the SAS 9.x software platform Evaluation Criteria: 1.
