Position Title: Data Analyst Duration: 3 to 6 months Location: Syracuse, NY Rate: 45/hr on C2C Job Requirements · Exposure to the insurance or financial sector from a data management perspective · Expertise in data analysis methodologies and processes and their linkages to other processes in the software development lifecycle · Experience with integration efforts (packaged and customized applications) from a data analysis perspective · Expertise in various data modeling techniques such as process, data and object modeling · Participation in data analysis efforts for multiple projects and programs of different size and complexity · Experience in working with business users to gather data requirements · Experience in various data requirements elicitation, analysis and validation techniques · Experience working with structured development lifecycles and CMMi Level 3+ organizations · Familiarity with data analysis artifacts and tools. · College degree, or specialized training or equivalent work experience in data management · Typically requires 3-5 years of relevant work experience Summary of Ideal Skills: · Good analytical background · Good Life Insurance and Annuities experience · Experience in data mapping and profiling · Experience with XML and Messaging (ACORD) · Experience with Entity Relationship Modeling (ERWIN) · Experience with modeling generally (UML, MDA) · Experience with data stores on all platforms (incl Legacy and RDBMS) · Experience with ETL and data mapping tools · Strong team work ethic · Great communications skills (confidence and competence liaising with all levels of an organization · Supports all technology teams in analyzing data to ensure it meets corporate policy and business data requirements · Understands the context, structures, usage and sources of data within the organization · Works with client and IT management and staff to establish and maintain consistent data element definitions across computing environments · Participates in the development and maintenance of corporate data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries and data element naming standards, and conventions for multiple computing environments to support all data management activity · Analyzes and designs data models, logical databases and relational database definitions.
