I will take a pure AIX engineer, but would prefer one who also had Linux. * *Job Title: *Unix System Administrator *Job Description: *Our client is looking for a Senior AIX Engineer - with HACMP (high availability) and scripting (perl/shell). The role supports installation, configuration and operation of all Unix systems in a heterogeneous environment. The role is focused on support and operation of Unix systems. Creates, tests, documents and delivers repeatable support processes. Investigates, documents and resolves issues escalated from Level I engineers. Escalates problems to Level III as necessary. Provides guidance, training and support for more junior team members. Develops, documents and delivers tools for support of Unix systems. Works closely with Lead Engineer to ensure that the Unix environment is supportable, maintainable and reliable. You must develop and maintain relationships with contemporaries globally. Service Delivery to include: monitoring and operation of Unix servers *Job Requirements: * Financial Industry Technology Issues Process Improvement and Quality Methodologies Release Management; and Quality Assurance issues in high availability environments Regional Exchange Process for Trade Execution, Trade Match, Trade Clear, Market Data Must have experience with Unix/Linux (preferably Red Hat and/or Solaris) running natively and virtually. Identify and conduct trend analysis for system and process problems. Experience in supporting cluster implementation with Veritas and Unix. Competency in shell and Perl scripting, system security, integration with Active Directory, Veritas Netbackup Enterprise backup solutions. Should have solid experience with Unix networking. Should have basic understanding of Apache/Tomcat configuration and operation. Server, application and desktop software baseline created and maintained (patching solutions, Altiris HFnetcheck). Technology Production Services/Operations in dynamic, time-critical, high-transaction-volume, and low latency environment across multiple time-zones ITIL: Service and Release Management, Incident Reporting, Problem Management, and Change Management.
