Sr. Oracle Database Administrator (DBA).

The candidate will administer and support enterprise and dynamic 24 x
7 Oracle environments with high availability and scalable performance
requirements Extensive practical experience in Oracle 9i/10g
Enterprise Edition on Solaris and Linux platforms is required.

Job Description • Responsible for providing strong and practical
database administration, performance monitoring/ tuning, security
enforcement, and strong troubleshooting and analysis. • Responsible
for developing, managing, and testing good and successful database
backup & recovery strategies and procedures. • Responsible for
performing database installations, configurations, upgrades, and
migrations. • Responsible for providing proactive performance
monitoring and tuning, and capacity planning to sustain growth and
maintain scalability and good performance. • Responsible for
implementing, managing, and tuning high-availability database and DR
(Disaster Recovery) solutions including Oracle Data Guard and Streams.
• Responsible for administering and enforcing database and user
security policies and standards including compliance with SOX
regulations. • Responsible for building and managing a healthy
interactive and professional relationship with DBA team members, and
in-house software development, project management, QA, and system and
SAN admin teams. • Responsible for researching, and evaluating new
databases features, technologies, and trends to provide innovative
ideas and solutions in order to improve the existing database
infrastructure and support new projects and requirements. •
Responsible for designing, reviewing and recommending database
modeling to produce sound logical and physical data models. •
Responsible for developing and maintaining database documentation and
best practices.

Qualifications: Requirements:

• In-depth understanding of Oracle 10g and 9i database server
architecture, concepts, features, and high-availability technologies
including Oracle Data Guard and Streams. • Minimum 5+ years of
seasoned practical experience with Oracle 10g/9i database
administration, backup and recovery, and performance tuning and high-
availability solutions. • Strong hands-on backup and recovery skills,
with real experience of RMAN hot and cold backup and recovery. • Good
understanding and experience in Oracle advanced technologies including
Oracle Data Guard Standbys, Streams, Partitioning, Spatial, Text, and
RAC. • Well-versed in UNIX and Linux platforms, system resources
monitoring. Excellent UNIX shell scripting experience is required.
Windows is plus. • Seasoned experience in SQL scripting and PL/SQL
packages and procedures. • Sound experience in database modeling, and
ETL processes and tools. • Ability to provide prompt on-call and 24x7
DBA support and flexible schedule. • Willingness to learn, and support
other RDBMS, such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL. • Excellent
analytical, organizational and project management skills. • Ability to
communicate and work professionally and effectively in a team
environment. • Bright personality, team player, self-starter, and self-
motivated. • Excellent communications skills. • Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, IT or related field.
