Database Administrator Job Description: *Monitor relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use and physical implementations of databases; address a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues and new applications *Review, develop and design data models using standard diagramming techniques, in conjunction with application development teams; create logical data models and translate into physical database structures that integrate with existing or proposed database structures *Maintain availability and integrity of databases through multiple access schemes; facilitate sharing of common data by overseeing proper key and index management and data dictionary maintenance *Maintain development, test and production RDBMS environments *Design, develop and implement Oracle database instances *Monitor and maintain database security and database software *Provide advice to applications programmers in the effective use of database languages; advise on troubleshooting, exception processing needs and other data management issue *Support Oracle database instances for development, test and production *Import data and develop custom scripts in coordination with Systems Engineers and Developers *Work with software engineer to correct software and database defects Core Experience Required: *Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle 10g, RAC, OLS & Oracle Text *Experience in a UNIX environment Thank you, DBA FYI Center http://dba.fyicenter.com/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ORACLE DWH DBA" group.
