Senior Database Administrator The position is for an individual with in-depth understanding and experience with Oracle RDBMS 9i and10g and Oracle RAC High Availability. Responsibilities include project level DBA support, development, and production DBA support for database instances running on RedHat Linux hosts. Will work with project teams to ensure that database related projects are delivered on schedule. Will work with operations staff to create and document processes and procedures for monitoring availability and performance of production database instances. Essential Functions Include: · Install, configure and maintain Oracle RDBMS systems. · Monitor availability and performance of production database instances. · Implement production system changes · Create and maintain technical documentation · Assist with the install, configuration and maintenance of Oracle Application servers · Create/modify shell scripts to automate processes · Create/modify scheduled tasks and backup processes · Work as part of a global Database team with members in multiple countries Desired Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. · Highly committed independent worker with excellent communication skills · 4-5 years of operational DBA experience with Oracle 10g · Successful implementation of Oracle RAC · Experience installing and maintaining Oracle software and patches. · Proficient with Oracle PL/SQL, and utilities including DataPump, Grid Control, RMAN, and DataGuard · Oracle Performance Tuning at both the system and statement level · Understanding and experience with Oracle Application Server, eBusiness suite, SQL Server and Java experience is a plus · Basic Linux system administration – shell scripting, scheduling of tasks, filesystem maintenance.
