Sr. Database Engineer The Senior Database DBA / Developer is responsible for the coding/ reviewing SQL stored procedures, performance and database tuning, data modeling, and the design and implementation of database schemas. Essential Duties & Responsibilities ? Responsible for the installation, technical administration, tuning, and monitoring of databases ? Document database administration standards, policies and procedures. ? Effectively communicate and interact with both functional and technical personnel in solving complex business and technical problems. ? Maintain and implement replication ? Ability to complete tasks within critical timelines and work well in a fast- paced, high-energy environment. ? Code stored procedures, views, functions, tables and other database oriented items as needed. ? Maintain and enhance the current repository of stored procedures ? Assist in the continuous enhancement of our overnight data calculation and manipulation routines ? Participate in on-call rotation ? Performs other job-related duties as required. ? Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required ? Experience with SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008 ? Advanced understanding of index optimization and performance tuning in a VLDB environment ? Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services ? Experience supporting and working in a project development and support environment with ability to diagnose and solve problems quickly. ? Outstanding ability to read dynamic sql and complex stored procedures ? Experience creating and maintaining complex database schemas. ? Thorough understanding and skill of Windows operating system and database concepts. ? Outstanding coding and testing skills required. ? Have an analytical mind and the ability to delve into detail, but also have an interest in broader business issues. ? Ability to interface with personnel at all levels of the company. ? Exceptional communications (written and oral) ? Customer service focus in a team environment Skills that would be a plus ? .Net ? VB script and HTML ? Visual Studios 6 Education & Business Experience ?
