Job Title: Systems Analyst III
Job Description:
Under general supervision, formulates/defines system scope and
objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify the
most highly complex information systems. Prepares feasibility studies,
cost estimates, and detailed specifications from which programs will
be written. May present recommendations to management. Analyzes and
revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as
necessary. Competent to work in complex phases of applications systems
analysis activities. May act in lead capacity and provide leadership
and training to lower level analysts. Typically requires a college
degree and 4 to 6 years related experience.
Additional Job Description:
Work within a team environment supporting a multi-platform/OS
distributed development environment. The primary duties will be
heavily geared towards UNIX / Linux & Apache System Administration and
Virtualization.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Provide system administration support for an R&D organization with
multi-platform/OS environments, web applications, BAR, and databases
in a 24x7x365 operations environment
Perform new system configuration, software installations, and code
deployment Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with
computer systems Pro-active system monitoring and maintenance
Provide status updates on incidents and projects Handle backup and
recovery as well as disaster recovery procedures
Maintain and write scripts/tools in administration languages (Shell,
C, Java, Perl, etc.)
Provide technical direction, web content programming and
troubleshooting within a web environment
Support Microsoft based databases and associated applications
Introduce and integrate new technologies and industry standard
tools
Responsible for documenting the configuration of the systems
System performance tuning US Permanent Residence BS in Computer
Science or other technology discipline 5+ years experience in UNIX/
Linux systems administration DNS, NFS, LDAP, Active Directory
administration, NIS Experience with Virtualization products desired
