*Location:* NY *Duration:* 10 Months 1. Microsoft Product knowledge including experience in PowerPoint, Excel and Word. 2. Minimum of 2 years experience in supporting applications and/or help desk support 3. Experience in conducting end user training. 4. Experience with software application installations. 5. Willingness to travel (up to 60% of time) in New York State with possible overnights. 6. Experience with system support, including hands-on troubleshooting at desk-side, by phone and by remote control. 7. Experience in the support of laptop and desktop operating systems (Win2000/XP). ASSOCIATED SKILL SETS Candidates must also have one of the preferred skilled sets listed below. Accordingly, candidates not meeting the supporting experiential specifications below will not be considered for the position. 1. 1 year experience in using Microsoft Access. 2. Experience in conducting classroom training for applications. 3. Knowledge of TraCS (Traffic and Criminal Software) application or support of law enforcement or criminal justice applications. Project Description: The Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS) is the traffic data collection system for the clien and local police agencies in New York. TraCS is a front-end data collection system for police officers with a back-end database. It allows officers to electronically capture information necessary to produce traffic tickets, accident reports and other police data forms. This electronic collection of data increases the accuracy and effectiveness of the police officer and New York’s data systems by improving the flow of data to other agencies requiring this information. The consultants will be responsible for supporting local client that utilize the TraCS application, and will be involved in all of the following areas. • Assisting in the setup and installation of TraCS software. • Supporting and troubleshooting application issues. • Training local agencies in the use of TraCS. • Updating training documentation.
