*Title: System Engineer* *Location: Franklin, TN*
*Term: Contract (3-6 months)* *Rate; DOE * * * *This position will have up to 25% travel expectations. Windows 2008 experience, Citrix required, SharePoint a plus, BizTalk a plus. * * * *Description:* The *System Engineer *is responsible for performing technical administration and/or problem and project analysis duties, as well as system design and development of methods to process information. This position is also responsible for producing specific deliverables relating to operational support and management. The System Engineer occasionally leads staff members and peers on projects. The incumbent works independently and typically requires supervision on complex tasks only. * * *Responsibilities:* Works as a team member on complex projects and technical problems Completes assigned technical (e.g., analysis, designing projects on time development, implementation, testing, monitoring, maintenance, production support, documentation, etc.). Occasionally leads peers on project management activities such Performing as planning, sizing, configuration, and scheduling. Analyzes problems, develops and implement solutions, and makes decisions that significantly improve system availability. Acts as a subject matter expert on products and assigned systems Resolves escalated complex issues within established timeframes while providing the quality customer service. Act as on call support on a rotating basis. Ensure areas of responsibility are SOX compliant. Evaluate new technologies and make for implementation recommendations Proactively monitors and controls systems to maximize production availability. Continually works to improve maximizing cost effectiveness to services with the Company and Customer. Develop and implement written and guidelines related to areas of responsibility, policies, standards. Develop performance metrics and agreements that align service level information technology with the requirements of the business and customer. Meet or exceed defined performance metrics and service level agreements * * *Experience and Skills:* 6+ years of relevant work experience. Strong technical and analytical skills PC and desktop applications Microsoft Office, e-mail, etc. Strong knowledge of applicable tools, standards, methodologies, and procedures Demonstrated decision-making and leadership abilities Strong organizational and problem ·solving abilities Excellent verbal and written ·communication skills 3 to 5 years with hands-on experience in the following technologies/protocols: o System and Network troubleshooting o Windows 2000 and 2003 Server o Windows clustering o NAS and SAN technologies (HP and EMC preferred). o Server consolidation strategies. (Virtualization). o Backup hardware, software (prefer Galaxy CommVault), and processes. o Server network configuration and troubleshooting. (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, NICs) o *Citrix* configuration and administration. o Network Administration (Firewalls, VPN, switches, and Routers). o System and network monitoring technology. Experience in developing/managing disaster recovery capability Ability to apply technical solutions to business problems is required. Experience in an organization with locations and a centralized data distributed center and overall operations would be a plus.--
