Position: Natural/Adabas Programmer/Analyst (Mainframes)
Duration: 6+ months
Location:  Boston MA

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with:
•       Large, complex, cross-functional applications
•       Extensive, recent experience programming in Natural/Adabas
environment
•       IBM mainframe environment including ISPF, CICS and TSO, JCL
•       Business analysis, process design, and requirements gathering used
in the development of new or enhanced systems;
•       Problem-solving and conflict resolution methods and techniques;
•       Database management systems and preparing SQL queries/scripts;
•       Database applications such as SQL and Microsoft Access;
•       Training end users on technical concepts; and
•       Ability to assist with multiple projects.
•       Cobol programming experience a plus
•       Visual Studio or .NET programmings experience a plus.
•       MS SQL Server experience a plus.
Ability to:
•       Organize and prioritize work; coordinate multiple work activities
and meet critical deadlines;
•       Develop ad hoc solutions to supplement/augment established
applications as needed.
•       Work collaboratively with staff in other offices and organizations;
•       Ability to communicate technical software and hardware issues to non-
technical users and executive management; and
•       Document business requirements to be used in the evaluation,
development, and/or acquisition of information management systems by
an organization, ability to develop and maintain user documentation
related to software applications used by an organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•       Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow,
logical processes, hardware and operating system environment,
interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and
controls, and outputs.
•       Confers with user departments and the Director of Information
Systems and Technology regularly to identify computerization needs and
determines how the desired results can be achieved. Analyzes existing
systems and programs and develops or recommends new systems or
modifications to existing systems
•       Reviews and analyzes system specifications to determine whether all
required elements have been included. Consults with user groups to
gather information about program needs, objectives, functions,
features, and input and output requirements.
•       Assists in design of special forms as needed
•       Uses programming languages to code computer instructions from the
systems documentation. Utilizes any special programming techniques
necessary to achieve the most effective program.
•       Tests and debugs computer programs.
•       Modifies existing programs to conform to system changes or to make
improvements in the existing programs
•       Advises and works with user departments to resolve specific problems
or make changes in programs, computer applications, capabilities,
alternative programming approaches, limitations, etc.
•       Trains personnel in user departments in any specific procedures
necessary to enter data into terminals for computer processing.
•       Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development,
logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
•       Monitors performance of programs after implementation
•       Maintains relationships with other departments and agencies.
•       Develop, document and maintain user acceptance test scripts; perform
user acceptance and other functional tests; and assist in tracking and
coordinating user acceptance testing;
•       Report, track and process user change and enhancement requests;
•       Assist in the analysis of business processes and workflow for
possible improvements;
•       Ensure data integrity by auditing and analyzing data;
•       Support the development of data standards and user application
procedures; analyze existing data, identify needs for usage
information, and prepare and update user guidelines and procedures on
a regular basis;
•       Support the development of operational/user documentation;
•       Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Equivalent to possession of a bachelor’s degree, and five years
experience in business process analysis, development, implementation
and operational documentation...
