SQL Server Database Administrator

• Providing day to day support for Microsoft SQL Server
implementations on over 160 servers and growing. • Investigating
system performance problems and working with various groups in IT to
resolve issues including networking, server and SAN administration,
and applications development. • Researching, evaluating, and
recommending tools that may be used to optimize database use and
application development. • Installing, maintaining, and utilizing
native SQL Server and third party tools for the purposes of database
backup, recovery, monitoring, and schema change management. •
Participating in emergency recovery of databases as well and
participating in disaster recovery planning and testing. • Monitoring
industry trends and advising on how to best leverage the latest
technologies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications • Six or more years of experience as a SQL Server
Database Administrator is preferred. • Advanced knowledge of SQL
Server set up and maintenance is required including experience with
large database management techniques. • Advanced knowledge of T-SQL,
replication, performance monitoring and tuning, index creation and
maintenance. • Knowledge of server and SAN storage configurations, and
working knowledge of additional database platforms would be considered
beneficial. • Communication skills are necessary, both written and
oral. • Ability to work in a team environment is required. • Ability
to work on-call rotation is also necessary.
