Let me know if you are available for these positions. 1) Role: Cognos Framework Developer-- Pharma experience is preferred Location: Thousand Oaks, CA. Just north of LA and Malibu. Duration: 3months Start Date: 2/22/2010 Project: BI COE Positions: 2 *Project Description:* -Develop new, extending existing frameworks for Cognos Report Net v7 and v8. Perform analysis of existing reports and extend them with new attributes and calculations. Analyze requirements and implement technical solution. *Role Description: * -Work with small work tasks associated with analysis, design and implementation of reports and frameworks. -Review existing Cognos reports and understand their structure, business rules and underlying data model. -Review source systems for creating new or extending existing frameworks using Framework Manager. -Review target report specifications, enhance the target report specifications and implement the reports. -Write documentation for testing and deployment. -Support testing and deployment to the production system. Testing and deployment will be performed by another group. -Provide daily and weekly status to the Project Manager. * * * * *2) Role: BI (Cognos 8) Designer & Developer* *Location*: Warren, NJ *Start date*: 2/22/2010 *End Date*: 05/31/2010 *Possibility of Extension*: Yes * * *Project Description*: Build Business Intelligence reporting platform to support Basel II program * * *Role Description*: Design and develop analytic and reporting solutions using COGNOS tool suite including Framework Manager metadata models, Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio. Design the scheduling, distribution, and refresh for reports, views. Serve as a technical expert on COGNOS solutions; recommend ways for the user base to maximize the value of available functionality. Work with data modeler to develop data mart models, design specifications, and metadata documentation. * * *Required skills*: -Strong BI & DW skills. -3-5 years of implementation experience using Cognos (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio). -Some knowledge of Sybase IQ Ver# 12.x. -Thorough understanding of Cognos BI 8 platform and suite of tools. -Ability to translate user requirements into complex Framework Manager models, BI reports, analysis, and dashboards. * * *Additional skills*: -Technical knowledge regarding best practices of Cognos implementation, configuration and customizations including the Cognos SDK. -Experience working with dimensional modeling including understanding facts and dimensions, star and snowflake schemas, and OLAP tools and techniques is required. -Experiences with Cognos GO (Office, Dashboard, Search). -Experience with Financial Service clients is desirable. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ORACLE DWH DBA" group.
