*Location:* VA *Duration:* 6 Months Data Analyst Level 2 - Senior - viewed as having significant expertise in given field. This position is in the Card Data Services - Collections DSS Department and the focus is primarily on analysis and performance reporting of delinquent accounts. Responsible for the design, development and administration of transactional and analytical data constructs/structures. Included within those responsibilities are the areas of data access and delivery technologies. Includes expertise in data quality, data organization, metadata, and data profiling. May provide technical support on data warehouse teams. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate these following skills and traits: • Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. • Guides the successful completion of major projects and may function in a project leadership role. • Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. • Demonstrated ability to deliver highly technical information to a broader audience beyond the team lead while influencing within the team. • Works substantially with little or no supervision to deliver key milestones. • Less than 30 days to self-sufficiency. • Demonstrates the ability to move from one sequential assignment to the next - work environment and priorities can change quickly depending on business needs. • Familiarity with moving data between production systems and across multiple platforms. • Data set sizes are usually large, in excess of hundreds of millions of records, so query efficiency is essential. • Typical Experience Level: 5-6 years. • Prior Experience in Capital One (as an Data Analyst) in the last 18 months is a plus. Essential skill sets: • Teradata 3-5 yrs. • UNIX 3-5 yrs. • Experience with Financial Services clients: 3-5 yrs. • Strong communication skills. Deliver high-level and detail technical designs. Work with other developers to deliver integrated solutions. Requires to do the systems analysis, creation of specifications, coding, testing, and implementation of application programs and data interfaces.
