Duration: 6 Months
1. Technical Design – provide a design and schedule for completing iPhone
application.
2. User Interface Development – Build and test the designed user interface
for displaying and capturing the delivery status information. This must be
setup in both development and production environments.
3. Defining and setting a standard framework for iPhone application
development 4. Evaluate a possible framework for HTML5 development for
other mobile environments (eg – Blackberry, Android).
Estimated Technical Work
* Defining and setting a standard framework for iPhone application
development .
* CTQs – enables rapid mobile development for future apps
* CTQs – upgrade and maintenance are simplified
* CTQs – transcends a specific mobile platform
* Standard for - SSO Authentication
* Standard for Data Access / Storage (SQLite, Plist/flatfile, or Core
Data)
* Evaluate a possible framework for HTML5 development for other mobile
environments (eg – Blackberry, Android).
* Provide Technical Design for iPhone application.
* Develop a maintainable iPhone application.
* Application Specific
* Provide secure communications to GE environment.
* Develop user friendly user interface.
* Provide capability when out of cellular coverage to transmit data
when coverage is available.
* Setup Development environment for testing
* Unit, integration, & system testing
* Fix applications bugs that may arise due to project
* Keep in intact the existing functionalities, interfaces, and batch
processes not listed in the technical design.
Resources (Key Technical Elements)
Resource Skill-sets
The following skill sets are the minimum that must be covered by the
technical resources, however the resources may have additional skills above
and beyond the following:
* 1-2 years experience writing iPhone applications in Objective C
* Experience with HTML5 (device agnostic).
* Background in Object Oriented design and software architecture
* Must know XML and XSLT and be familiar with web services technologies
(UDDI, WDSL, etc.)
