*Job Description:*
Senior Storage Architect that has experience architecting, building, and
supporting EMC Symmetrix-based storage systems in a team environment. The
storage system supports an enterprise environment that consisting of 500+
Intel or UNIX servers. The ideal candidate will also be a self-starter who
is comfortable multi-tasking and leading storage-related projects. This
position will participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation.
This is a Senior-level position; the ideal candidate will have hands-on
experience with the following technologies:
- EMC Symmetrix/Clarion/Celerra Storage Systems
- PowerPath
- SRDF
- TimeFinder
- EMC ControlCenter
- Fiber attached and IP based storage
- Cisco FiberChannel Director-class Switches
Disaster Recovery/Backup
- Architecting & supporting D/R planning exercises
- Support of an enterprise backup solution
Software & Operating Systems
- UNIX - AIX, Solaris, HP-UX (strong knowledge of one is required)
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Linux
- Ad-hoc scripting, program development
Miscellaneous
- 3+ years of EMC storage experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Storage reporting to include capacity, performance, and costing
- Capability of evaluating technical specifications of storage
requirements and assignment of appropriate storage to a service or
application
- Knowledge of/experience with de-duplication
- Knowledge of storage virtualization
Experience in the following areas are not required for the position, but
would be helpful:
- Bachelors Degree in a related discipline
- IBM and HP Storage Technologies
- Database Administration Experience
- EMC professional certifications
- Additional Professional Certifications
