Please find the requirement below and kindly send your resumes to [email protected] Position : Sr. Linux/Solaris Engineer Location : Texas (Must be local) Duration : 1 Year plus Rate : Open Note: In-person interview required, looking for locals. *Job Description:* Management of the Production, DR, Dev & UAT environments ensuring effective controls and support procedures are adhered to. - Delivery of key infrastructure projects, new systems and new technologies to ensure stability, resilency, reliability, capacity and application performance meets buisness demands. - Part of the team responsible for architecting hardware and operating systems strategies for the large portfolio of applications. - Ensure the application suite adheres to the bank-wide standards and best practice methodology. - Part of a global team supporting, managing and delivery of existing and new systems, new technologies. - Responsible for seeking root cause analysis in the event of major incidents. - Work with Support teams to identifying RCA and assist in remediation plans to prevent re-occurrances. Supporting and administrating Linux Redhat & SUSE, Solaris 10 and the key features within the operating systems. Good awareness of vendor toolsets within the hardware and operating system. - Expertise in HP & SUN hardware infrastructure, with a sound knowledge of SAN technologies. - Expert in Disaster Recovery solutions, virtualisation technologies, including VmWare & Solaris containers and Veritas clustering. - Ability to work as part of a global team, with excellent levels of communication essential. - Be able to participate, contribute and influence strategy and architectural decisions for the application portfolio. - Able to educate and enhance knowledge to junior SA's with excellent communication skills, carrying out regular infoshares, producing high standard of documentation and participating in Unix Forums within the wider SA community. *Position Requirements:* - Mimimum 5 years working as a Linux and Unix administrator in a large organisation. - Can demonstrate that they have worked on large project implementations and understands the Project LifeCycle. - Good awareness of DR solutions, clustering and virtualisation technologies. - Worked on SAN and NAS attached infrastructure. - Have sound troubleshooting concepts and methods. - Excellent communciation and has worked part of global or a remote team.
