* * *Sr. Windows / VMware Engineer * *Multi-year Contract Washington, DC * *Minimum Education Level 4 year BS degree* in Computer Science or *12 years work experience*equivalent *Functional Responsibilities* · Sr. Windows Systems Engineer, VMware, and Storage · Function as a principal engineer for a client as a Windows Systems Engineer and VMware virtualization expert. · This Sr. Engineer will require strong experience in a variety of IT technologies including storage, Active Directory, and application virtualization. *Minimum Qualifications* · 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting VMware Infrastructure (now vSphere) software including ESX, Virtual Center, and Capacity Planner. · VCP certification is required. 3.0-4.0 · 8+ years working with Microsoft’s server and server related products in large scale, mission critical, highly available, enterprise environments. Server 2003 and 2008. · 3+ years experience with administrating recent versions of Active Directory and supporting components. · Tier 3 level of support for a 24x7 operations center. · Experience with implementing and administrating recent versions of Microsoft SQL Server and IIS. · Experience designing and implementing MS Clusters. · Experience administrating Business applications running on Windows servers. · Experience administrating Microsoft based file systems, permissions structures, monitoring, and performance management. · Experience with design and deployment of middleware and applications running in a virtual environment. · Tier 1 server hardware experience (HP, Compaq) · Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCSE) required · Enterprise class Storage Architecture and Administration - Certification a plus.
