*Job Description :*
· *Two* business intelligence (BI) and data warehouse (DWH) data
modeler with Informatica Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) Developer.
· Education - BS or MS in computer science or information systems.
· Verifiable Training/Certifications in:
o Informatica Data Integration Certification, or documented equivalent
o ETLs process design, development, and performance tuning
o Data modeling using ERD and dimensional models for highly conformed
data marts, relational operational data stores, and star-schemas. Knowledge
of Kimball, Hybrid, and Inmon approaches to data warehouses design
o Basic Oracle DBA skills with and ability to define indexes, create
and edit tables, monitor Oracle performance
o Basic Informatica 8.x system administrator skills and training
o Data warehouse and highly-conformed data mart design and
development
· General Work Experience: Minimum of five (6) years development
experience using Informatica creating ETL and data quality programs, and
developing data warehouse structures.
· General Industry Experience: K-12 or Higher Education industry
data warehousing experience preferred.
· Communication Skills: Fluent in speaking and writing English.
Minimum of five (5) years verifiable experience working with end-uses in
defining and preparing detail specifications for data warehouses, ETL
programs, and quality routines.
· Four years experience with AGILE and SDLC development cycles on
data warehouse development projects, with experience in defining and
recommending development approaches for modification of data sets.
*Responsibilities:*
· Review and document data structures, data sources, ETL processes,
quality routines of the educational data warehouse
- Map, gap, and compare the client’s educational data warehouse data
structures to national data models to identify areas for modification or
improvement
· Assist in the preparation of the Component Impact Summary for the
eleven data domains to modify data structures, data sources, ELT processes,
quality routines of the educational data warehouse
· Assist in the preparation of the Design Change Impact analysis
summary for each data domain, for the proposed changes to that domain, for
data structures, ETL programs, transformations, indexes, data staging areas,
summary tables, and data quality routine based upon a redesign activities.
· Assist in the preparation of development and conversion strategies,
and documentation, for modifying or creating new data structures, ETL
programs, transformations, indexes, data staging areas, summary tables, and
data quality routine based upon redesign activities. Develop strategies for
data acquisitions, archiving, recovery, and implementation of a reporting
database on an enterprise level.
· Development
· Define, prepare, develop, document data structures, ETL programs,
transformations, indexes, data staging areas, summary tables, and data
quality routine based upon a redesign activities for each of the data
domains as needed for the Educational Data Warehouse.
· Conversion
· Define, prepare, develop, and document conversion routines for
data structures, ETL programs, transformations, indexes, data staging
areas, summary tables, and data quality routine based upon a redesign
activities
· Test Planning
· Create test plan cases and documentation for each data domain, for
the proposed changes to that domain, for its data structures, data, ETL
programs, and data quality routines.
· Assist in testing change cases, and preparing test results, for
each data domain, for the proposed changes to that domain, for analytics,
reports, and data quality routines.
· Assist in preparing conversion schedules, cut-over procedures, and
cut-over component checklists
· Assist in conversion and cut-over procedures to implement changes
to data structures, data, ETL programs, and data quality routines and
document the results. Assist in the quality assurance activities to verify
successful conversion before system goes live.
