Role: Data Analyst Location: Atlanta, GA Duration: 6mths Rate: $Negotiable Job Description The Data Analyst will participate in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of an on-going enterprise-wide Data Warehouse/MDM program. The primary responsibilities will focus on data analysis in support of business data requirements definition, user acceptance testing and training activities. This candidate will lead these activities and work closely with the Data Architects and Developers to translate the requirements into technical data specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong operations team leadership experience in data analysis and/or business intelligence in a complex business environment. Responsibilities * Gather, validate and document data requirements down to the column level, in direct support of business requirements and priorities for specific data requirements. * Identify data sources for the required data attributes. * Create data maps to document data attributes to data sources and also data targets, including identification and documentation of data transformation algorithms as necessary. * Identify and document data standards to be performed, data enrichment operations, data validations, data security requirements, and data exception handling processes * Support *best practices* for data analysts across the Client*s Infra organization to improve productivity and the quality of data delivered as part of the Commercial Data Warehouse. * Assist in knowledge transfer to other technical staff members on business data processes. * Assist in on-going evaluation of current and new business data requirements to achieve higher operational efficiencies and project portfolio alignment. * Experience writing Business Requirements and Functional Specifications. * Support ongoing development and maintenance of a common set of key performance indicators to measure data quality across the source systems. * Problem and issue resolution with data identification and integration from source systems. * Facilitate communications and exchange of technical information among the project team. * Participation in weekly status meetings and other project meetings. * Partner with the Data Architect and DBA*s to influence database setup and data model development. * Maintain a library of data standards and process diagrams. * Identify gaps in documentation and facilitate the creation of new process documentation where necessary. * Assist with the scope and justification of new tools and processes being considered to improve data quality. Skill Requirements: * A minimum of 5 years experience performing data analyst functions in a large-scale data warehouses project. * Experience in identifying and documenting business requirements in a data warehouse environment. * Experience with master data management concepts and practices. * Experience with metadata management practices. * Experience with Agile development methods a plus. * Experience with Cognos or other query and reporting tools. * Knowledge of data provisioning applying various methods including, Web Services, data views, data exports, reports, etc* * Strong analytic and problem solving skills are essential. * Must be able to research and explain data discrepancy issues so that both technical and business users can understand. * Knowledge of SQL and ability to build queries would be an added plus. * Excellent communication and leadership skills. * Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. * BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
