*** * *Job Title: Deployment Lead / Manager * *Location : San Francisco, CA* *Length of Contract :7+ Months* *Job Description:* The Deployment Lead’s primary responsibilities include planning and leading software deployments of mission critical enterprise systems in a multi-tiered worldwide environment. Technologies include but are not limited to: SAP, Middleware, Business Objects, Business Intelligence, Oracle, and portal technology. The Deployment Lead will have primary accountability to define, prepare and lead the execution of all deployment-related documents including deployment and rollback plans. This requires leading and coordinating multiple technical resources. The Deployment Lead will ensure that all deployments follow established processes to ensure quality, repeatability, efficiency and GMP/SOX compliance so that customers are minimally impacted by software changes in production. Additionally, the lead will coordinate the setup of controlled test environments. The Deployment Lead will be responsible for setting achievable deployment milestones, identifying and communicating scheduling conflicts, and determining alternative solutions to deployment problems through strong strategic relationships with key validation, development and project management stakeholders. The Deployment Lead is ultimately accountable for successful execution or rollback of the software changes. ** *Requirements:* *Technical Experience/Aptitude*: Candidate must have significant technical experience. Applicable experiences include: at least 5 years in software development or application/systems administration. Candidate must have a strong understanding of technologies used in an enterprise IT environment, such as databases, networks, client/server interactions, middleware systems, scripting concepts, web-hosted applications and advanced PC-use skills. Additionally, the candidate must be adept at learning and understanding new technologies. Direct experience in leading and/or executing software deployments is required. GMP experience is a plus. The candidate must be able to lead a team of Subject Matter Experts in problem solving a technical issue. ** *Project Coordination*: Applicant must be capable of leading and coordinating small to medium size technical teams. Applicant must have at least 3 years Project Coordination experience in an Enterprise IT environment. Applicant must possess excellent documentation, communication and proven leadership skills. Applicant must have excellent organization and project coordination skills. Specifically, the candidate must be capable of negotiating milestones with project teams, identifying and communicating scheduling conflicts, evaluating and determining alternative solutions, and driving to produce results while maintaining an organized process oriented approach.
