SQL DB2 Programmer will perform work of considerable difficulty in the analysis, design, programming, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of complex stored procedures portable to multiple relational databases; use SDLC methodology to gather requirements to design and code programs; test and debug code; Apply technical knowledge and skills necessary to debug, test and enhance performance of stored procedures. Complete assignments accurately in timely manner with minimal supervision. Provide estimates of work effort and impact of projects/tasks with alternatives, actions, and clear result specifications. Document issues, recommendations and modifications of complex projects. Participates in the design and delivery of detailed program specifications for both development and production support situations. Maintain documentation of work; will provide leadership in development of stored procedures and provide training for current staff of best practices. Candidate will report to mainframe applications manager within OIT. Experience in describing and documenting technical applications is desirable. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to take lead technical role on projects and have skills to provide adequate time/cost estimates. Must understand, practice and provide guidance in the use of SDLC.
