Role: Unix Administrator / Unix Systems Administrator - L3 (Level 3)
Location: MA
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: Negotiable
* 7-8 yrs yrs of IT experience
* 5-6 yrs+ of Solaris system admin exp - Must to have
* 3-4 yrs + with Linux exp
* Good working knowledge with Storage systems/VERITAS clusters.
* Must Strong with Solaris 8 and Solaris 10
* Must have experience with SUN Servers like SUN Fire T2000, SUN Fire
v890, and M5000 servers
* Must Strong with Linux RHEL 4 and RHEL 5
* Must very good experience with VERITAS Volume Manager and VERITAS
Cluster version with 4.0, 4.1,5.0 and 5.1
Responsibilities:
* Installing, supporting, and maintaining servers
* Monitors system performance and capacity, and reports changes in
usage
* Forecasts system demand, recommends upgrades, expansion, and
reconfiguration
* Troubleshoots hardware and software problems, takes appropriate
corrective actions and/or interacts with IT staff or vendors in performing
testing, support, and troubleshooting functions
* Participates in site set-up, user training, hardware/software
installation, maintenance and support, and documentation of
hardware/software logs and operating procedures
* Performs basic user administration (adds, changes, deletes, disk
space management, backups and file restores)
* Documents standards and operating procedures for a large based
system, and acts as a technical resource to the IT staff and systems users
* Leads projects or subprojects including developing project plans,
assigning tasks and facilitating team process
* Consults on technical issues
* Troubleshooting hardware and OS issues on Infrastructure servers
* Responding to server hardware, OS alerts
* Creating users and groups; assigning user and group rights setting up
shares, volumes, and directories and monitoring servers, storage, and
operations events
* To update new packages to all server software
* Performs updates and maintains the antivirus software
* On Call support once in a month rotation basis
