Hi Friends,

***FACE TO FACE IS A MUST***

*Full Description:*
Role - The role of the Enterprise Architect is to utilize a broad knowledge
of business and technology to ensure business priorities, as well as the
needs of the various stakeholders across the enterprise, are effectively
addressed by a cost effective combination of business operational workflow
and automation. The enterprise architect monitors business, marketplace and
economic trends, technology and IT trends, as well as legislative and
political trends that may be pertinent short and long term.

Objective - The objective of the enterprise architect is to improve
competitiveness of the enterprise in the marketplace by reducing complexity,
lowering costs, and improving responsiveness of the operational workflow and
automation that support management and business users.

The enterprise architect determines the strategy for and leads the
disciplines of business architecture, information architecture, technology
architecture, and application architecture through the use of principles,
policies, best practices, guidelines, standards, frameworks, architectures,
blueprints, models, workflows, and metrics.

To foster the appropriate use of architectural artifacts the enterprise
architect must develop and implement architecture governance, data
governance, and technology and application portfolio governance to protect
the interests of the various stakeholders across the enterprise while
meeting the needs of the business community in a timely manner.

Approach - First steps usually include the development of a current and
future state vision to help identify where the enterprise is and where it
desires to go. However, depending upon the needs of the organization, a wide
range of initiatives can be involved in progressing toward these objectives.
Aside from the development of the various architectural artifacts,
governance models and strategies, these initiatives often include workflow
automation of strategically selected operational areas that represent the
greatest risk and cost to the enterprise, a program of data stewardship to
improve data quality, and a change in the mindset of IT to empower business
and IT users alike to be able to address their own reporting and business
intelligence needs with ease and accuracy.

Resources - To accomplish these objectives, the resources of the enterprise
architect are often quite limited. In a large conglomerate the resources of
an enterprise architect usually consist of lead architects for business,
information, technology, and application architectures, some number of
architects within each of those disciplines, a small tactical team to
address urgent business needs that cannot be supported through the usual
plan, build operate model, and a number of small and or virtual teams to
govern the technology and application portfolios.

Tools - The primary tools of the enterprise architect include the ability to
communicate and persuade. The enterprise architect must spend great effort
to network with business and IT executives, line management and users to
gather business priorities and ensure that they are kept abreast of
direction and progress. With respect to the other various stakeholders
across the enterprise (e.g., security, compliance and auditing), the
enterprise architect must gain cooperation and participation from them on an
as needed basis, and with regard to lead architects the enterprise architect
must mentor and continually clarify the intended business value that each
discipline is required to deliver.
