Duration: 3 or 6 months
Location: Sunnyvale, CA ( local)

Candidate must have extensive experience in Server and Unix
implementation, and management
- 7+ years design and deployment experience with Unix systems in data
centers
- Expert knowledge of the following technologies
- Solaris
- Linux
- Server platforms
- Unix Virtualization (Solaris Containers, VMWare, Xen)
- Automation of system builds (Jumpstart, Kickstart)
- Excellent system level understanding of UNIX system. Kernel and device
driver knowledge is a plus
- Substantial experience in administering and performance-tuning Linux
and Solaris
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in DNS, NFS, LDAP, TCP/IP
- Hands-on experience in storage for NAS and SAN
- Strong knowledge in Shell, Perl, and C++ programming
- Proven knowledge in system/application monitoring tools and technology
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to communicate technical proposals to supervisors and
management
- Fluent with MS suite of tools including MS Visio
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of database and major applications (Oracle, Siebel, SAP) is a
plus
- Solaris or RedHat certification is plus
- ITIL Certification is a plus
- Interaction:
- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President
level employees within the function, across functions and with external
parties.
- Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual
can operate and drive results and set priorities independently.
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject
matter expert.
To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through
regular leadership and influencing others.
