*Job Title : Oracle/SQL server DBA* *Location : Ashburn, VA* *Duration : 12+ Months contract* * * *****prefers local candidates***** Description: we are mainly interested for a candidate who has very good SQL Sever DBA experience (SQL clustering, replication etc.) and good Oracle DBA experience. The person should be able to handle both SQL Server and Oracle DBA tasks.Database administrator to design, build, support and deliver database solutions for Oracle and SQL Server DBA. Resposibilities: * Has both Oracle and SQL database management and deployment * Performs one or more of the following tasks in support of computer database administration: architects, designs, and develops computerized databases * Performs daily operations to check the database health * Monitors and reacts to alerts * Performs reorgs and database tuning * Write code for update queries, update data dictionaries as new fields are added to the database, and maintain a data correction log * Creates and maintains data correction logs that identify the date the correction that was performed, tables and fields effected, submission effected, error code effected, and other pertinent metadata. Expand and update the data dictionary for the database and any related applications. Consults with and advises users of the various databases. * Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systemsfunction. * Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the database management section * Prepares and delivers documentation and presentations on data base management systems (DBMS) concepts.
