*Required Skills*



·         More than 5 years of experience in IT as a developer

·         More than 3 years of excellent experience in developing MS-Excel
based models

·         More than 1 year experience with Excel 2007

·         Good knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

·         Ability to build Excel Add-ins

·         Ability to extract data from RDBMS, using SQL

·         Good communication and facilitation skills

·         Ability to create a clear manual for the code use

·         Able to work on multiple tasks at the same time, excellent
planning and coordination ability.

·         Ability to interact with business users to extract business
process implemented in the spreadsheets.

Experience in Accounting, Financial Closing and Reporting



*Work to be performed:*

* *

·         Work with Financial Closing improvement Program (FCIP) team, which
consists of IT analysts and Financial Operations & Reporting users to:

o        Identify and eliminate unnecessary spreadsheets from the financial
close process

o        Improve the efficiency of spreadsheets used in the financial close
project, through migration (incorporating into existing applications) and/or
automation (redeveloped)

o        Maintain or increase controls on spreadsheets while reducing the
elapsed time to prepare



·         The following duties will need to be performed:

o        Review all the spreadsheets used by business users in the financial
closing process (over 100 spreadsheets).

o        Create new and enhance existing Excel programs to improve overall
financial closing process.

o        Improve efficiency and accuracy of individual spreadsheets by
automating manual steps and /or combining spreadsheets

o        Integrate with IFC databases (RDBMS)

o        Standardize spreadsheets. Ensure compliance with Spreadsheet
Management Principles

o        Build security on spreadsheets to restrict document access. Only
authorized staff shall have specific access permissions to a spreadsheet and
its contents (e.g. data, formulae, programs etc.)

o        Import and Export data from from/to spreadsheet, using SQL, ODBC,
XML, etc

o        Consolidate and analyze data

Develop user manual and technical documentation for individual spreadsheets



Location:  Washington DC

Experience Level: 6-8 yrs

Rate: $50/h Max (Nego)
