Database Engineers (Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing)
Duration: 4-9 months
Location: Chesapeake, VA
Rate: Open
The Candidates will design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate and install
database management systems to include database modeling and design,
relational database architectures, metadata and repository creation and
configuration management. Candidates will use data mapping, data mining and
data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases and
determine data storage and optimum storage requirements, prepares system
requirements, perform source analysis and process analyses and create all
designs throughout the database implementation. Candidates must have:
Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
Experience with SQL Server Analysis, Integration, and Reporting services
Experience with data analysis and data modeling;
Experience administering database servers including installation,
configuration, maintenance, backups, and replication
Experience creating data transformation services (DTS) or SQL Server
Integration Services (SSIS) packages
Strong T-SQL and Stored Procedure coding abilities
Experience in optimizing databases and performance tuning; solid
understanding of referential integrity and the use of indexes
Experience migrating databases and/or changes between environments
Experience implementing and supporting 3rd party applications and web-based
applications
Ability to gather and review requirements and provide accurate estimates of
work
Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite including Word and Excel
Knowledge of Microsoft Development tools
Understanding of relational database design and construction
Knowledge of the development process, including specification,
documentation, and quality assurance
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
