Position Description *The Senior Software Engineer will build, enhance and lead key modules of the Payment Gateways and related product line. This highly visible and mission critical position will require design and development of complex systems that process millions of transactions per day, leveraging J2EE and open source technologies. The responsibilities also include gathering and clarifying requirements, facilitating communication with other groups within the company. As a key member of the engineering team, you will need to communicate technical ideas clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. *Specific Responsibilities will include* - Gather and analyze requirements from business analysts - Design and develop fault-tolerant systems using Web Services, JEE and open source technologies - specifically EJBs, JMS and Message-Driven Beans, Workflow and JDBC, - Provide architectural recommendations for systems that are reliable, massively scalable, highly availability (99.999% uptime), and maintainable. - Author functional specifications and design documents - Demonstrate the software for various technical and non-technical users across the company *Qualifications **(Must-have Skills) *· BS or MS in Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university · 3+ years experience designing and developing complex Java and JEE applications · Experience understanding a multiple component application/ multi system flow software architecture. · Strong communication (verbal & written), organizational and interpersonal skills · Must have the ability to use a logical, systematic approach to problem solving · Multithreaded Java development experience including fault-tolerant, scalable, high-volume systems · Extensive XML parsing and XML schema design and XSLT experience · Proven J2EE experience · Experience in OO design and design patterns · Experience in creating automated unit testing using JUnit · Strong UNIX background *(Desired Skills) *· Previous experience designing and building high volume, payment processing applications is a strong plus. · Credit Card and/or Electronic Check processing knowledge and/or expertise · Bank/Processor Reconciliation knowledge and/or expertise · Deep understanding of SOA principles and Web Services technologies is a major plus · Experience working with Sybase, Oracle, or MySql databases · Experience with performance testing, memory leak testing and tuning · Experience in creating build scripts using Ant and/or Maven · Experience with using Eclipse or other IDEs for developing JEE Apps. · Experience with Agile methodologies/SCRUM * TIBCO BusinessEvents resource (Senior Consultant)* Location: OR Start: ASAP Position Type: Contractor Duration: 3+ months Interviews: ASAP (Phone definitely. In-person is optional at this point) Strong experience with TIBCO BE Architect. Person should have customer experienced with BE. Local candidates preferred, if it*s not a local person to Portland, OR. Resume reviews are very important. TIBCO is looking for an Architect or Senior Consultant with expertise level skills on this product to do installation, configuration and knowledge transfer/ mentoring to the client. So communication skills and the ability to be a self starter and independent performer is key. Since this is not a purely business oriented role, the resource has to be primarily technical but since their responsibilities are those of Architect, I would expect them to be able to understand the implications of a business requirement on a technical solution.
