*Job Title : Java Developer* *Location : Washington, DC* *Duration : 5+ Months Contract* Minimum Requirements: *Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline and 4-6 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position. * *Requires extensive expertise developing highly scalable, consumer facing web sites, including ability to understand and develop for security and scalability requirements unique to public web sites (rather than Enterprise/Intranet sites). * *Requires extensive expertise with Java/J2EE development, database engineering, software integration, and multi-tier applications architecture required. * *Requires extensive expertise with Java frameworks including Struts, Spring, and Hibernate. * *Requires extensive expertise with Java, JSP, JBoss, Linux OS and file management, source code management (Subversion), and build/deployment process/tools (Ant); * *Requires experience with SQL and relational databases (preferably MySQL); * *Requires extensive knowledge and experience with Internet applications and protocols; understanding of TCP/IP networking principles; * *Requires experience developing within an Agile/SCRUM methodology. * Recommended Skills: Understanding, and preferably experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, jQuery, XML, XSLT, Web Services, REST, SOAP. Preferably experience integrating third party solutions including Pluck Social Network and Google Search Appliance (GSA).
