*Skills :*
·         C#, VB.NET, VB6, ASP, ASP.NET, MS SQL, XML, SOAP, Web Services,
WDSL, Crystal Report, MS Access VBA, Excel VBA,  JavaScript, VBScript,
Visual Studio 2008, Visual Source Safe,  .NET development and O/M support
experience.
·         Silverlight and Java experience highly desirable.

*Job Description:*
·         The Programmer/Analyst works under the directions of the
Application Services Team Supervisor and with other programmer analysts who
have good understanding of the Power Generation's day to day operation and
generation business; and applies his or her development skills to help solve
Power Generation's business problems on time and on budget.
·         This job requires the ability to work collaboratively as part of a
team as well as the ability to engage in working on multiple tasks
effectively.
·         The Programmer/ Analyst will develop a solution from a documented
or verbal specification in a timely manner to meet organizational deadlines
using standard SDLC methodology.

*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*
·         Application Development and Maintenance
·         Perform application analysis, design, development, unit testing,
testing support, deployment support and maintenance for  Windows-based (Wins
Form), and browser-based (Silverlight/ASP.NET) applications.
·         Java expertise is also desired for a near term development
project.
·         Provide support for production systems using SQL database
management tools, and provide timely solutions to client issues.
·         Work with team members, supervisor, IT specialists, and client
organizations as appropriate to achieve results. Investigate and fix defects
reported. Implement requested enhancements.
·         Accurately estimate effort for requested enhancements.
·         Provide clear communication and needed documentation for all
system modifications.
·         Operations Support - Monitor system health on daily basis
including but not limited to checking the system logs, checking batch runs
and producing needed daily reports.
·         Participate in recurring operations call.
·         Manage problem determination, escalation and coordination within
the team/other groups to resolve production failures in a timely manner.
·         Provide ad-hoc data requests and research questions.
·         Client Support and Consulting - Provide expert consulting to the
client, to identify and meet client business needs.
·         Understand the client's current and future business environment;
effectively anticipate, identify, and fully meet all business needs.
·         Anticipate client concerns and questions and provide timely,
professional, straight forward (non-technical) communications via meetings,
status reports, phone, and email and follow through with results. Require a
thorough understanding of Windows-based and ASP-based applications and their
associated system architecture.
·         Software Development - Respond to client support calls in a timely
and efficient manner concerning Visual Basic 6, VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET and SQL
Server based applications.
·         Prioritize client support requests and ensure their needs are
fulfilled in a timely manner.
·         Keep supervisor informed of client issues and keep clients
satisfied with IT support services. ·         Applications Testing -
Understanding of software, how it works, and how it often breaks. Ability to
create test beds, create test scenarios, create regression tests, document
and assess software reliability.
·         Documentation - Adhere to all department and team policies for
design, development, testing and deployment documentation.
·         Follow all documented design and coding standards and exhibit
excellent written communication skills and the ability to write effective
manuals.

*Qualifications JOB SKILLS REQUIRED*
·         Ability to work effectively with business clients and colleagues,
as well as within the IT team.
·         Ongoing contact with key business users in gathering requirements
and delivering IT-based solutions.
·         Ability to self-manage and effectively handle multiple projects
concurrently with the aptitude to effectively prioritize as project needs
change.
·         Must be result-oriented and customer focused.
·         Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to write
effective correspondence and documentation.

* TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:*
·         5+ years using C#, VB6, VB.NET,  and Visual Studio for development
of console, services, Winform, legacy ASP and ASP.NET applications,
Silverlight and Java experience highly desirable.
·         Experience with XML and creating and consuming of web services via
WSDL, SOAP, IIS, and MS SQL Server 2005/2008.
·         Business Objects BI tools (Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence)
desirable
·         Familiarity with source control systems such as Visual Source Safe

·         Experience with MS Access and Excel VBA (Visual Basic for
Applications)
·         Experience with .Net Framework (all versions) and Ajax programming
a plus
·         Familiar with basic TCP/IP protocol suite and Windows 2003 O/S and
its common services
·         CAISO Web Service API understanding desirable.

*Degree Preferred:*
          Bachelor/ IT oriented
