*Job Title : Systems Engineer* *Location : Charlotte, NC* *Duration : 6+ Months Contract* The Operations vertical of the Windows Services team is responsible for the overall health and support of the Windows Server and Active Directory infrastructure. The overall success of the team is measured by its ability to provide customer-focused services that will ensure optimal systems performance and uptime with minimal risk to the environment. With a commitment to continued improvement in maturing operations and providing rigor in the execution of standards-based processes and procedures, the team will operate with a focus on proactive support and quick response to issues as they arise. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Serve as the primary administrator of Certificates and PKI infrastructure. Configuration documentation as well as health and metrics reporting are essential functions to demonstrating proper administration and oversight to these solutions. • Provide VMWare administrative services with an emphasis on operational needs of the virtual machine environment. Responsibilities and success measures include administrative and support services such as physical to/from virtual conversions, resizing, monitoring and reporting, and prompt problem support resolution. • Provide DoubleTake administrative services with an emphasis on operational needs of the Disaster Recovery environments hosted in the Charlotte Data Center. Responsibilities and success measures include administrative and support services such as supporting, resizing, monitoring and reporting, and prompt problem support resolution. • Provide capacity management services by leveraging tools to proactively identify potential problems in the areas of component and service capacity. Responsibilities include monitoring server performance and throughput, performance analysis, performance tuning, and capacity planning for the purpose of meeting current and future business requirements in a cost-effective manner. Measures of success include remediation of anticipated or impending problems prior to service impact as well as the ability to provide measureable results through reporting. • Provide general systems administration and on-call support as required to all supported servers. Measures of success include the ability to identify and implement proactive services that accurately monitor and report systems status information for the purpose of maximizing uptime and optimizing systems performance.
