Performance Testing & engineering assignments

*Skills Requirement*:



ü  Should be hands on & willing to play the role of a Performance
Engineering Architect. Should be willing to play an individual contributors
role

ü  Should be experienced in carrying out performance testing/engineering
consulting assignments

o   Current state assessment, landscape understanding, portfolio of required
performance engineering services, estimations & proposals

ü  Proven in strategy/planning & implementation – good to have experience in
setting up Test Centers or customer specific Performance CoE

ü  Proven exposure to identify bottlenecks & recommendations for enterprise
applications varying in Architecture & Deployment complexity

ü  Should have experience with the following

o   Performance Engineering – n-tier Web Applications (Microsoft/Java
Platforms), Rich Internet Applications, Client/Server, web Services (SOAP,
REST), Middle technologies (JMS, MQ, TIBCO), Packaged Applications
(SAP/PeopleSoft/Siebel/Oracle e-Business suite)

o   Client Side Performance Testing & tuning

o   Baselining, Benchmarking

o   Tuning for optimization & consolidation

o   Capacity Planning, Trending & Management

o   Usage Pattern Analysis & work-load Modeling

o   Be able to understand & determine bottlenecks in different databases

§  Sound understanding in using the tools for DB analysis, understanding in
interpreting diagnostics report & provide recommendation

§  Query profiling, analysis & recommendation for optimization

o   Nice to have experience in Sterling Yantra & Trade Stone solutions

o   Nice to have understanding of applying mathematical models for Capacity
& similar operations’ approach

o   Should have understanding on memory management

o   Java Garbage Collection, Heap Analysis and tuning

ü  Must understand Product release life cycle

ü  Must have solid fundamentals in different development methodologies
(plain waterfall, iterative & Agile)

ü  Tuning & optimization experience with Web Server, Application Servers,
RDBMS, OS

ü  Experience working with different flavors of UNIX

ü  Client* *– Yslow/PageTest, HTTP Sniffers

ü  Diagnostics - HP Deep Diagnostics(.Net/J2EE)/DynaTrace, InfraRED

ü  Memory analyzers, GC Analyzers, Thread Analyzers

ü  Exposure to Web Servers, Application Servers - Configuration and tuning

ü  Databases Performance - Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, DB2

ü  Windows & Unix (Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX)

ü  Log Analyzers, Work Load Modeling tools

ü  Nice to have experience working with Hyperformix, TeamQuest solutions for
Capacity Planning/Management

ü  Strong exposure to Application Monitoring tools -
SiteScope/Introscope/AdventNet/Business Availability Center/OpenView
