The OTC Tech group's applications are product agnostic and hence there is an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of multiple asset classes such as Credit, Interest Rate and Equity Derivatives. *Skills Required:* Relevant years of experience in building mission-critical Java, MQ based Straight Through Processing (STP) systems in Equity or Fixed Income domains *Skills Desired: * Knowledge of OTC Derivatives and front-end technologies. Ability to coordinate across teams and liaison with users. *Requirement No.2* *Position Title:* Senior Consultant *Work Location:* New York City *Project Duration:* Long Term *Skill Proficiency:* Senior *Main Duties:* Working closely with other IT teams including Commodity Derivatives, Commodities Application Management Team, and multiple infrastructure teams within the bank (e.g. Engineering, Server Teams, Middleware, DBA, and Production Support). This interaction ensures the environments, configuration, and related documentation are consistently maintained and kept current. *Experience required:* Strong understanding of the software lifecycle and change management best practices is required. In association with this, the following areas are also required: • Strong working experience with Windows servers – maintenance and auditing • Strong working experience with multi-tiered / layered enterprise systems • Knowledge of build servers, build automation, and application compilation management • Solid understanding and practical experience with relational databases including knowledge around how software may interact with a DB (e.g. connection methods, web services, data layers, etc) • Solid understanding of topic-based messaging technologies (e.g. Solace, MQ, TIBCO) • Solid understanding of source control technologies and best practices (e.g. Perforce) • Experience with estimating future hardware and storage requirements • Relational Databases (Management & Programming) - MS SQL 2005/2008 and Oracle 10g+ • Topology diagramming software (e.g. Enterprise Architect, MS Visio) • Defect management software (e.g. JIRA, QC) • Topic-based Messaging (e.g. Solace, Smart Sockets, RV, 29 West, etc) • Object oriented methodologies & fundamentals Due to the nature of the role, the candidate must have the ability to operate within these guidelines with limited direct oversight.
