Local candidates in Michigan are needed* *Position Description: * · Contribute, as part of the Data Team, detailed design, coding and testing for Oracle based applications using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL in a Solaris environment. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:* · Performs all work in accordance with company’s quality programs, standards and procedures. · Maintains safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility. · Develop solutions using database development tools and languages such as Oracle PL/SQL. · Responsible to following coding standards detailed in database developer handbook. · Responsible to develop design documentation. · Review technical documents to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with enterprise directions and security standards. · Schedule and participate in code walkthroughs. · Responsible to thoroughly unit test modules. · Provide assistance as required to other teams which are integrated our testing database modules. · Investigate and resolve all assigned defects. · Represent data team in requirement and design sessions · Recommend database design elements with data architects or data manager. · Collaborate with clients, business analysts, technical staff, and project team members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance applications, scripts, procedures, and metadata for relational databases. *ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:* · Experienced in *Oracle 9i/10g/11g RDBMS* · Capable of working on multiple projects, multi task in a fast-paced environment · Excellent written and oral communication skills · 3+ years experience as an Oracle database developer · 5+ years experience with *SQL/PL/SQL* · Experience in Web-Based Architecture required · *UNIX shell scripting experience required* · At least 1 year *Logical/physical database design* experience · Familiarity with TOAD / SQL Navigator · Experience with *Oracle performance tuning* techniques highly desirable · Auto finance or banking industry experience highly desirable · *Java/J2EE* experience highly preferred · Knowledge of how IT systems work together to meet business needs · Knowledge of XML/XSL/XSLT technologies preferred · LDAP experience a plus · Other RDBMS experience (MS-SQL Server, Postgre SQL, MySQL, etc) a plus · Experience with BI Tool sets (IBM Cognos, Business Objects) a plus. · Knowledge of Oracle Application Express preferred.
