Common monitoring components will include Windows PerfMon, SQL Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), SQL Profiler and Excel. The position will require a solid understanding of paging, multi-core/multi-thread considerations, memory analysis, data cache metrics, indexing, parallelism, physical and logical disk I/O metrics, SQL Isolationism and SQL transactions. The candidate will be expected to be able to develop, plan and execute a monitoring plan based on the platform and workload types given. The candidate will also be expected to be able to analyze and present the findings in a meaningful fashion as well as offer specific changes to improve the overall results. The candidate should also be fairly familiar with the standard HP DL380/580 series servers and the common hardware components they use. Any additional knowledge towards the general business metrics used in supply chain sorting/distribution systems is a bonus.
