ETL/DW Architect
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Length: 6-12 months
*Description*:
*Responsibilities** *
- Architecture and design oversight to make sure the system confirms to
the industry best practices.
- Engage in the discussion with architecture team and data analyst team
to further the development agenda
- Manage and contribute to the database and ETL development efforts when
required. This is a hands-on role (datastage and db2)
- Manage/contribute to maintenance activities of the DW/ETL application.
- Manage the change management process for the project
- Coordinate work with DBA, infrastructure and QC groups
- Work directly with technologists from various Infrastructure and
Application Development teams to understand application infrastructure
interdependencies and constraints
- Identify, track, and resolve issues as they arise
*Qualifications***
* *****Must*****: *
- 7 to 10 years of experience as a data warehouse developer and architect
- Expert level knowledge of *Data Stage and database* modeling.
- Proficient in writing and tuning SQL for DB2 UDB.
- Past experience in DW projects (development as well as on-going
maintenance work)
- Ability to lead/influence discussions and see them through completion
critical.
- Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
- Must be a self-starter, a team player
- Strong attention to quality and detail
- Strong interpersonal skills * *
*Preferred**:*
- Experience with Cognos or any other reporting tool is a plus
- Experience with mainframes is a plus
- Understanding of IBM’s IIW data model is a plus
