If you are not available for any positions, but you know someone who would be a best fit for this job, please don't hesitate to pass this mail on to them. *We also pay a $500 Referral BONUS fee for your referrals when the consultant stay in the role for at least 3 months.* Job Title : *Data Analyst* Location : *Carlsbad, CA* Duration : *6 months.* *Reply to [email protected] * Support and work closely with fraud consultants, analytic scientists and software engineers to assist in analyzing patterns of fraud and risk in data and to help build automated link analysis and clustering software Prepare, clean, analyze and process large data sets (millions of records) from various client contributions. Must be able to perform in-depth statistical analyses, identify and clean anomalous and missing input values, write software tools to aid and automate these tasks. · Build link analysis queries to identify common patterns of fraud and collateral based risk on those records. · Analyze records and perform clustering analysis to identify potential third party fraud rings that might be operating to defraud financial institutions. · Perform Ad Hoc analysis on large sets of data based on clients request. · Evaluate model performance in-house for retro tests, model performance analysis and in production. Generate score distributions, calibrations, and various performance charts. · Respond to client and consultant questions and requests. Perform detailed issue investigation when called for. · Support and work closely with software engineers to assist in the development and deployment of production automating queries. Including: Write code to translate and package new in-house queries. Debug and test existing production code. · Handle a wide array of analytics related requests. This could entail anything from a simple data query or extraction, to writing white papers and performing detailed ''what-if...'' scenario investigations and analyses. Candidate must have attained a Bachelors degree in Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or a hard science such as Physics, with a GPA over 3.0. Desired: Attained or are working towards a Masters and/or PhD degree. Prior work experience or significant course work / projects in machine learning, data mining, statistical inference, etc. · Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: *Perl, Python, Java, SAS, R*. · Comfortable working in a *UNIX/Linux environment*. Conversant with regular expressions. · Familiarity with typical tools in a Linux environment: *bash/tcsh, vi/emacs, cut, grep, sort, ssh, compilers, debuggers*, and version control software. · Knowledge of *SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle, db2*). · Strong organizational skills, capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and challenging environment. · Gets things done. Self starter who works well independently under minimal supervision, but is also productive as part of a team (either as a collaborator or in a leadership role). · Deep attention to detail is critical since results will be provided to prospects and clients that will impact their decisions and our revenue.
