Title: Sr. SQL DBA
Location: NYC (In person interview required)
Duration: 3-6 Months
Required Skills:
• Minimum 7 years IT industry experience.
• MS SQL Server Certified.
• 5+ years of MS SQL Server Administration in a large Active
Directory environment.
• Experience supporting the installation and deployment of third
party packages that employ SQL Server as the backend database
• Proven ability establishing HA solutions for SQL Server
database applications.
• Proven ability to script solutions as well as a strong
knowledge of the GUI administration tools to manage change control and
monitoring of the systems.
• Can independently install and configure SQL Server 2008.
• Significant life-cycle database administration support
including database design, database development, testing, deployment, and
maintenance.
• Strong database modeling and design skills.
• Strong experience with database scripting, SQL development,
unit testing, and systems administration on Microsoft platforms.
• Ability to perform 7 x 24 hour support.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Self motivated and ability to learn and research issues
independently.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
• Windows batch commands and scripting.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with source control systems like CVS.
Familiarity with job scheduling tools, such as TIDAL.
Experience with entity modeling tools like ERStudio.
Familiarity with supporting the install of third party
products that use SQL Server (Xytech Systems MediaPulse is a real plus).
Experience with vendor support and product implementation.
Experience with monitoring tools such as SCOM, Performance
Center.
Experience with data migrations, ETL tools.
Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services.
Familiarity with Oracle
Windows 2003/2008/2008R2 administration knowledge.
