Required Education Bachelors / Degree or Equivalent Work experience Required Experience 3 - 6 Basic Qualifications A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, plus a minimum of 3 years of IT Systems Administration experience or a minimum of 6 years of IT Systems Administration experience. Windows MCSE Certification a plus. Department Description Information Technology Infrastructure Services (ITIS) Organization has an IT Systems Engineering opening in its Windows Server team. The Windows Server team is responsible for providing solutions, support and over-site for the many sites spread throughout the United States. We support hundreds of Windows servers that support both Engineering and Infrastructure applications. Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for and involved with: level 1 & 2 activities for the various supported sites. Developing subject matter expertise for various technologies/services within the organization. Participating in first and second level operational support teams. Monitor Windows server & services, anticipate potential issues, troubleshoot, research and resolve issues and problems associated with server performance, capacity issues, and other Windows-related issues. Use of technical skills to resolve or escalated infrastructure problems. Configuration and security for servers, upgrades and third party software. Gather and develop an in-depth understanding of business requirements. Participate in ITIL (Equip-IT) initiatives and processes Collaborate with various IT partners (e.g. internal IT organizations, External suppliers, 3rd party vendors), business customers and end users. Participate in a on-call rotation schedule for escalation issues Specific Knowledge/Skills Degree preferred with 3 years of IT Systems Administration experience OR a minimum of 6 years of IT Systems Administration experience. Windows Certification a plus. Technical expertise is highly preferred in most of indicated technologies: Windows Server 2003/2008 Operating System administration Big Fix Internet Information Server 5/6 (IIS) Monitoring Tools System Center Operation Manager/SCOM/MOM Server hardware and problem solving skills, familiarity with Dell, Sun or IBM Server Class hardware including Lights out management, KVM consoles and system configuration. Remedy or similar ticketing & escalation systems Understanding of Server based Engineering applications Technical competence and knowledge is preferred for the following disciplines: Active Directory management including Group/Local Policy TCP/IP Networking, Firewalls, DNS, WINS Administrative scripting, VBScipt, PERL, HTML, WMI or similar shell script programming languages. Microsoft clustering & load balancing experience. Please reply with following details ASAP.
